The pop-up cycle lane on Chalk Farm Road outside the tube station is very dangerous, especially when people are driving at night. There are no easily viewable signs telling people there is a new pop-up cycle lane there, which makes it very risky for cars and maybe even for pedestrians.
This morning a car came out from behind a bus and nearly overturned because the driver didn’t know the cycle lane was there. There should be warning signs and the ‘wands’ should be lit up so people know they are there.
And the signs should be big enough so that you can read them easily. If you’re struggling to read what a sign says you’re more likely to have an accident!
Probably the Council put this cycle lane in thinking they know best, but I believe it’s a health and safety issue. It could cause a very serious accident or somebody could even get killed.
