I am in two minds about the successful legal challenge to the pop-up cycle lanes on Haverstock Hill. I welcome the challenge but I am shocked that Camden Council carried out the changes without any consultation.
With consultation, Camden could improve the environment: more cycles, less pollution, quieter streets, more pleasant routes for pedestrians and wheelchair users
My daughter’s two support workers accompany her whenever she is out and about (in her wheelchair or walking). They already have a hard enough time keeping an eye on her and protecting her from any unsafe street behavior such as epileptic seizures.
Any unannounced changes in the road system make their job more difficult. They can’t anticipate dangers if they aren’t warned in advance. However, with consultation, Camden could improve the environment: more cycles, less pollution, quieter streets, more pleasant routes for pedestrians and wheelchair users.
